Completed General Practice fellowship training in Western Australia

Completed post graduate training in Allergic Disease at the University of Western Sydney, as well as postgraduate training in skin cancer medicine, primary care dermatology, cosmetic medicine, vascular ultrasound and phlebology.

Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners

Work experience


Worked as pharmacist on Kangaroo Island in South Australia.

Completed medical training then worked in Albany and Nicol Bay Hospitals in WA, as well as the remote clinic of Onslow in Western Australia, via light aeroplane access.

Completed her General Practice fellowship in Gympie Queensland.

Currently working in General Practice Whitsundays Queensland.

Melissa McCann

Has built a reputation as a caring and competent general practitioner in each Practice she has worked.


She appeared on national television in May 2017 recounting how her Whitsunday Family Practice was turned in to a makeshift hospital in the immediate aftermath of Tropical Cyclone Debbie.


Dr Melissa McCann is a member of the Australian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine and has an interest in complimentary and alternative medicine.


She is married with three children.


Following the covid 19 vaccination program, Dr Melissa McCann has developed a special interest in vaccination adverse events.


She has advocated for improved safety as well as financial compensation following injury, and she is the instigator of the covid vaccine injury class action lawsuit currently in the Federal Court of Australia.
